Place the boom on ground.
Lay out the lines such that they are straight with no tangles or twists.
Connect the ends of the left and right control lines to left and right lines of the kite harness.
Before take off, attach the wrist-band of quick release line to wrist
Hold boom, launch kite by pulling boom quickly towards you.
It is important to remember never to hook yourself into the harness during take-off.
Pull the boom in the right direction in order to direct the kite to the right.
Pull the boom in the left direction in order to direct kite to the left.
Winders on either end of the boom allow you
to wrap the lines around such that
tangles
are avoided during storage.
About Wearing a Harness:
Wearing a sailboard harness will allow you to perserve energy but
wearing one is not recommended it you are a beginner. Never hook your boom to your
harness when you are on land or near the beach as it is too dangerous.
Safety Features of Naish's Boom:
1. Wrist Band and Elastic Line:
This safety feature is designed to allow the user to depower
the kite and relanch it later quickly and effortlessly. This feature allows the user to take a break
or protects the user from loosing their kite if they should accidentally loose hold of their boom.
How?
Make sure your wrist band and elastic line are in place and simply let go of your
boom .
The wrist band and elastic line will act to pull on one side of the kite, flattening the kite,
as well as stopping the boom a few meters ahead.
To relaunch the kite simply pull the wrist-band and regrab a hold of the boom.
2. Quick Release Line
This safety device is used in such cases as the user is really overpowered but can not release
a hold of the boom.
How?
Simply pull the quick release line which will act to release the left line and therefore
flatten the kite
3. Total Kite Release
Use this method when there is no other choice or you are in a situation where continual
hold of your kite is a serious threat to your safety.
Simply undo your wrist band or harness and let go of the boom.
